Wake Up Call

i'm 9 days away from my exams and i havent even yet got down to studying!! oh man, i hope the urgency kicks in before its too late.....

football match yesterday was cancelled last minute, so went to IHM for mass with gerard, mike and pat... and seeing how mike was so casual and spontaneous in going for Confession... it somehow helped me muster enough courage to go too...

the last time i confessed, i was still in sec 4 and it was in school when FR Simon Pereirra visited..... since then i've always wanted to go but have been too cowardly to go hahaa

anyway, am very glad i managed to get it done, although it wasnt a very good one as i couldnt quite recall all my past bad deeds in such a short time.... penance is a whole rosary which i havent got down to doing, but plan to do so tonight .... (aparently according to mike this is the most he's ever heard anyone got.. shows what a bad boy ive been plus i only confessed those sins that came to mind)

unfortunately, after mass we went over to tiamo and i got myself drunk after a few bottles of wine hahaa.... damn.... so much for confession though i guess drinking is not really such a bad sin (i hope).... been doing some social smoking now and i'm resolving today to STOP! it may be study and exam time which means not much training but still i plan to resume training intensively once exams are over and the social smoking is not helping me one bit! since i'm at it i might as well stop binge drinking too.... anyway i should be studying right..... which reminds me i had better clean the cobwebs off my books and finally open them.....

I never quite figured out why the sexual urges of men and women differ so
much. And I never have figured out the whole Venus and Mars thing.

FOR EXAMPLE:

One evening last week, my girlfriend and I were getting into bed.

Well, the passion starts to heat up, and she eventually says, "I don't feel

I said, "WHAT??!! What was that?!"

So she says the words that every boyfriend on the planet dreads to hear...

"You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me

She responded to my puzzled look by saying, "Can't you just love me for who

Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night, I went to sleep.

The very next day I opted to take the day off of work to spend time with
her. We went out to a nice lunch at Lawrie's and then went shopping at this huge department store in town.

I walked around with her while she tried on several different very expensive outfits. She couldn't decide which one to take, so I told her we'd just buy them all.

She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said, "Lets get a pair for each outfit."

We went on to the jewelry department where she picked out a pair of diamond
earrings. Let me tell you... she was so excited. She must have thought I
was one wave short of a shipwreck. I started to think she was testing me because she asked for a tennis bracelet when she doesn't even know how to play tennis.

I think I threw her for a loop when I said, "That's fine, honey." She was
almost nearing sexual satisfaction from all of the excitement. Smiling with
excited anticipation, she finally said, "I think this is all
dear, let's go to the cashier!"

I could hardly contain myself when I blurted out, "No honey, I don't feel
like it."

Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled,
"WHAT?"

I then said, "Honey! I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while. You're
just not in touch with my financial needs as a man enough for me to satisfy
your shopping needs as a woman."

And just when she had this look like she was going to kill me, I added,
"Why can't you just love me for who I am and not for the things I buy you?"

Apparently I'm not having sex tonight either....but at least that bitch
knows I'm smarter than her.

My first Muay Thai Fight

on 31st march, I had my first ever amatuer muay thai fight! to be honest, when i picked up this sport about 5,6 months back, i never expected that i'd be given the chance to compete so soon. Especially when i watched my fellow gym mates' fights in feb, i thought i still had a long way to go before even thinking of replicating them.

Well, thankfully, i was given this oppotunity to step inside the ring, and for this i have to thank my coaches, sascha, kadir, aaron, zamri and alexis. Its a real pity i couldnt win for my gym, but then again, we all gave our best.

Frankly i was pretty confident going into this fight... i knew i had trained hard, despite the setback of a diarrhoea i suffered bout 10,11 days before the fight... maybe i did outpeak alittle but overall i still felt ready although relatively weakened. I was ok mentally, in my mind, the fight couldnt come any sooner. was anxious to get to the after-fight party! haha.

I was expecting someone around my level to be honest, turns out the guy i was fighting had been training for close to 2 years... and it was his 3rd fight.. i didnt pay much heed to that though, was pretty confident in my training.

In the end i guess my inexperience shown, i was surprisingly very calm , and not nervous at all, perhaps abit too relaxed because i never managed to muster up enough aggression and try n impose him. Got hit by some very good combos from him including one jumping elbow that i never saw. in the 2nd round, he threw a high kick just after the bell, and i was caught out cold, the kick left we asleep for a few seconds... thank God my legs held hahahha..

I feel alittle screwed however... we were wearing STEEL groin guards... the steel was so thick that if you were to kick it as hard as u can i think u'd probably break your foot/leg... at the most if you're hit there, all you'll feel is the outline of the cup pressing on your thigh area.... but then, he went down twice claiming i hit his balls, one was a knee in the first round that might have hit him, but then again like i said, he too kneed me in the balls and it didnt hurt.. its not possible to hit thru steel....

Then in the 3rd round, a rare kick from me clearly hit him in the stomach area, there was a loud "POCK" sound that u can hear from the vid...... he went down... then clutched his balls again. haha... well sorry for griping so much on the balls antics but then i find it pretty ridiculous...

hand to heart though i feel he won clearly... esp in the 2nd round when my inexperience was rly exposed... i've got no complaints about the result, and am extremely thankful for the experience.... a losing start it may be, but invaluable lessons that i'll take into my next fight.

Once again, a big THANK YOU to all my coaches and to all my friends who came down to support me! I Promise my next one will be better!!

oh ya and did i mention my opponent is only 17 yrs old? How i wish i started earlier... haha...

now that i've fulfilled my new yr's resolution of competing in a muay thai fight within the yr... i'm gonna set a new goal of competing in 2 more by the end of 2007 to make it 3 fights total! =)

Dear friends! as you know, its only 5 days to the big day!! Singapore Muay Thai Explosion 1 !! I'll be having my first ever amatuer muay thai fight so I really hope to have your support once again!

I will only be in the gym on mon and tues this week, so if you want me to help u buy tix pls lemme know by tues afternoon latest alright....

Once again, full details of the event is on the pic... however, pls note that my fight is part of the undercard event, which means it will take place in the afternoon (will only know time on day itself) before the professional fights.

Weak from Diarrhoea and the Pokemon Machine

argh.... feeling WEAK now... and its only 11 days from the big day! Getting worried! Afraid if i don't train soon enough i'll not be ready/fit enough/etc...... oh well, keep in your prayers friends!

Anyway, was resting at home the whole of today until Rudi convinced me to bring him down for some fun (a walk). hahaa... somehow, like a little naughty playful kid, he insisted on having a go at the pokemon machine at the mamashop... was nice I caught it on cam! hahahahaha!

Muay Thai Exhibition and The WWE

back from the exhibition in Clarke Quay! n yes it was fun! haha, i got to be a corner man yesterday but today was my turn to get into the ring and do an exhibition fight with Sunny! haha!

Was pretty funny how the plan didnt turn out quite as choreographed, but hope we looked good! See, the plan was to wow n impress the crowd more than anything, so we were both like WWE fighters for a night! lol, great fun. Hope my fight on the 31st will be equally enjoyable yeah!

Muay Thai Exhibition at Clarke Quay

Dear Friends!

On the 16th and 17th of March, Friday and Saturday! There will be a Muay Thai PRE-Event Exhibition at Clarke Quay (in the middle where the fountain is). This exhibition is in promotion of the March 31st fights!

Starting at 6pm you will see a display of Muay Thai Demos by the various Gyms from around the Island including Combat Academy, where i'm from. There will also Interactive Games and Quiz for the audience to win tickets to the main event.

I'll be going down so if you're interested... see you there!

after my boxing fight, juz got news that the march 31st muay thai fight for me is probably on. so i've gotta jump right in to some hard training! its only like 2 wks away... n muay thai is ALOT ALOT more demanding than boxing. Really hope I get through it well!

i don't think i did particularly well though, was kinda disappointed after the fight... this means i need to work even harder! but i guess its still great to start off with a win! hopefully the next time will be better!!
